#move 0,0
via a Belgian station Radio Delmare
with the power of 2000 watts. Also an
Irish Riverside Radio relayed RWR
several times. RWR got very much publi-
city in Europe for its different prog-
rams, because RWR used very much echo
and several types of jingles and sound
effects.Reception reports were received
from 12 countries.
During winter RWR tried to find more
members to operate the station. It was
done and in spring 1987 RWR had six
boys in a row and a new 35 watt trans-
mitter for FM use. RWR had a widely ad-
vertised transmission in May Day 1987
(May 1st 1987),but it was rudely inter-
rupted by police and PTL officials.
Anyway, all RWR-boys managed to leave
the place without getting caught.
In summer 1987 RWR was on air quite
regularly at weekends. It was great time
hiding in dark forests transmitting
programs and listening whether the PTL
was coming to raid the station. That
summer police and PTL had no luck and
in autumn 1987 RWR decided to start
larger operations. A more powerful FM
#move 325,0
transmitter was ordered and RWR bought
for the studio a new digital echo and a
mixer with six channels. Also a 15 watt
shortwave transmitter was bought and SW
transmissions were started immediately.
Some new members to the RWR crew were
also found.
During summer and autumn 1987 RWR got
very much publicity in local and
national newspapers and radiostations.
In the early September DJ Tex Willer
even appeared in the second national
TV-news as one of the main topics
telling about Free radio (Commercial
TV's 10 o'clock news). That was a real
smash! Free radio was in TV for the
first time in Finland.
In winter 1987-88 RWR broadcast regu-
larly on SW and had some brief tests on
FM. SW frequency was 6225 KHz every
Sunday morning, and especially the RWR
Christmas show 1987 has become a real
legend. The FM frequency was changed a
little to 95.5 Mhz, which is officially
reserved for the community of Muurame,
which is situated close to Jyvaskyla.
